.. but first, let me get a jacket. In brief, it has been cold. First the three weeks in Finland and now all of the sudden France has apparently turned into one of the Scandinavian countries. After returning from Finland and tackling the -24C weather over there, I thought now we can take it easy in France and have espresso in the spring sun.
Oh well, did not quite happen. The past week, each morning have risen with -10C weather and with a beautiful big sun. The only downside is that I didn't bring a winter jacket with me. In order to cope with the cold, layering would have been a good option too, if only the air company hadn't lost my suitcase. Luckily got it back after five days of numerous phone calls, couple of arguments and ten emails. A big WIN!
So, this weekend has not been only to enjoy the festivities that having your own clothes and toiletries can bring, but also to spend the whole day outdoors and enjoy the first warming beams of sunlight.
When the weeks get hectic, nature is always the GO TO-place to get energy and empty the head. Close by Roanne there's a lake called Lac de Villerest in a valley that's surrounded by mountains. The lake is just a perfect place for spending the day outside. They've picnic tables and a walking trail that follows the shoreline of the lake. The trail also leads up on the mountains to walk around the peaceful countryside.
